The Treasure Kalu Story
The Treasure Kalu story is one which inspires hope, faith and resilience. He lost his dad at the tender age of 9 and was raised in penury in an inner-city community by his mother who passed on in 2007.
The entrepreneurial spirit and passion for sales was awakened in him as a young lad who hawked articles at the motor parks in Warri, Nigeria.
He ventured into his first personal business as a secondary school student who organised paid exam support classes for junior students in his school.
He later went into the sales of motivational books, cassettes, recharge cards and everything in-between.
Although he holds a first degree in Electronic & Computer Engineering, his burning passion has always lied in the field of human capital development and public speaking.
Treasure started his career as a corporate trainer in 2009 when he was hired as a field marketer by a human capital development firm to sell GMAT and job interview resource materials and train NYSC corps members across Nigeria.
He has worked with some of the biggest consultants in Nigeria such as Fela Durotoye, Steve Harris, Paul Foh, just to mention but a few. He started his coaching and training practice in 2014 and his uncle’s dinning table was his first office.
The gift of the gab was discovered in him at a very tender age when as a young teenager he preached a memorable sermon before an adult audience. Since the age of 13, he has been before the microphone in various capacities.
Since 2010, Treasure has honoured over 250 speaking invitations both as a corporate trainer and a keynote speaker in 5 different countries within and outside Africa.
In 2013, Treasure started a non-profit initiative tagged the Street2School project in line wit the United Nations SDG Goal 4, to help inner-city orphans and indigent children gain access to basic education using the concept of crowd-funding.
The pilot edition of the impact project sponsored 13 orphaned inner-city children who had previously stopped schooling back to school.
Since then, the initiative has continued to help hundreds of inner-city children gain access to basic education.
Treasure’s vision is to help at least one million indigent African children get access to basic education. Click the button below for more details.
